John's Bay Boat Company

The company was established in 1983 by Peter Kass. Our objective was to build and repair wooden boats, both yachts and workboats, up to 50' in length. In the early years our mainstay was repair work with many small, new construction projects in between.

1986 ushered in a new era for us with the launch of Sharon Rosanne a high end 42' lobsterboat designed by the late Carroll Lowell. Our ability to blend the best of traditional construction with modern techniques produced a solid, easy to maintain wooden boat.

Ever since the launch of the Sharon Rosanne we have enjoyed a steady stream of new construction orders. In fact, 25 years since we opened our doors we have begun construction of our 60th vessel, a 41' lobsteryacht.
